Teaching Kids to Cast a Fly Fishing Rod
Volunteers from the Greater Boston Chapter of Trout Unlimited will provide hands-on training in the basics of casting a fly fishing rod to sixth, seventh and eighth grade youngsters on Saturday June 1, on the Boston Common. Sessions are scheduled for 10:30am, 1pm and 3pm, and will take place at the Frog Pond. Equipment will be provided, and there is no charge to participate. Parents are welcome to observe. Greater Boston Trout Unlimited is partnering with the Friends of the Public Garden, Inc. and The Skating Club of Boston to provide this opportunity.
Advance sign-up is required. Parents can enroll their children by sending and email to david@gbtu.org with the child’s name, age and email address; and the parent’s name, email address and telephone number. Summer Yoga
Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:15pm: June 4 – August 27
Frog Pond’s third season of FREE Summer Yoga will feature a vibrant group of instructors who will provide power vinyasa flow for students of all levels. This talented group of instructors bring into their teaching experiences such as musicians, writers, former college athletes, coaches, runners and bikers to name a few. This style of yoga and this group of instructors will provide a space for you to challenge yourself, release stress, expand your energy, and tap into the beauty of trees, grass, and water found at Boston’s most historic park. Class is held on the lawn adjacent to the Frog Pond carousel. Limited mats and blocks are available to borrow – please bring your own if you are able.
Rain Dates: Thursdays within the same week – pending cooperative weather and staff availability (exception: Wednesday July 3rd will be the rain date for July 2nd)
Weather related cancellations will be posted on www.bostonfrogpond.com by 4:30pm on the day of class.
